Working in the electrical trade has taught me a wide range of valuable skills, from wiring and troubleshooting to understanding complex systems. Each project has pushed me to think critically and refine my problem-solving abilities. I’ve gained confidence in my precision, safety practices, and communication skills with my colleagues. Most importantly, this journey has shown me what I’m truly capable of achieving.

The JATC has showed me that being an electrical apprentice is more than just learning about electricity. This program has guided me on how to better manage my finances, how to better maximize my time so I don’t feel like I’m drowning in work, it has also allowed me to build bonds and friendships with people ranging from my fellow apprentices to journey workers in our local. I feel that this program has a lot to offer and could make a very positive impact on a lot of people’s lives.

You get to learn through an amazing, hands-on experience while receiving great pay and benefits! This is an excellent career path for anyone.

I’m a person who graduated high school with good grades but got into the real world with no direction. I job hopped for a period and one day came in contact with a person in the I.B.E.W. That conversation literally changed my life. I’m working now through the program learning a skill I can use anywhere, I’m gaining friends and new family. And I’m finally on a path to build a life my family can be proud of and that’s what’s making the ups and downs well worth it! My only regret is I wish I could have started years ago but I’m finding day by day it’s never too late!
